Divine Consciousness: God's Kingdom Within

"Christian Science explains Jesus' words, "The kingdom of God is within you' as indicating a state of individual divine consciousness, attainable as a present possibility. It means that everything constituting man's happiness, health, and immortality is independent of time or place. The nearness or farness of the kingdom of God to each one is in proportion to the measure of his individual spiritual understanding of man's divine origin. In 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, (p. 576) Mrs. [Mary Baker] Eddy states: 'This kingdom of God "is within you"--is within reach of man's consciousness here, and the spiritual idea reveals it. In divine Science, man possesses this recognition of harmony consciously in proportion to his understanding of God.'"
